Elisa Henniger – エリザ ヘニガ

Education:
After becoming a tailor in an industrial company I had the chance to learn Shibori in a traditional Shibori Studio in Japan over two years. Coming back to Germany I started my fashion design studies and used all the knowledge about textile design and pattern making and loved to see products take shape from fabric to finished product. Whilst pursuing my Bachelor of Arts in fashion I had the opportuniy to return to Japan for half a year and do internships at Issey Miyake and Mikio Sakabe. Doing my Master of Arts in fashion design I had the opportunity to study knitwear in depth; from yarn, following the textile refinement, to patternmaking. While studying I worked as a freelance designer for the first time.
I am always eager to work with unusual materials. Working on contrasting material combinations creates diverse styles.
